자선행사로 모은 돈을 기부하지 않은 의혹으로 수사받던 문재인 전 대통령의 딸 문다혜씨가 무혐의 처분을 받았다.
서울 서대문경찰서는 18일 문씨에 대한 사기 및 업무상 횡령 혐의 고발 사건을 불송치했다고 밝혔다.
문씨는 2022년 12월 자신이 운영하는 갤러리에서 자선 바자회 형식 전시회를 연 후 모금액을 기부하겠다는 약속을 지키지 않은 혐의를 받았다.
그는 작가 30여명으로부터 기부받은 작품을 경매로 판매한 후 수익금을 비영리재단에 기부하겠다고 홍보한 것으로 전해졌는데, 경찰은 작년 10월 모금액이 재단에 전달되지 않았다는 진정서를 접수했다.
문씨의 금융 내역을 조회한 경찰은 모금액이 출금되지 않고 자선 전시 모금 통장에 그대로 예치된 것을 확인했다.
다만 경찰은 문씨가 모금액을 사적으로 사용하지 않았다며, 작가들을 속이거나 돈을 횡령하려는 의도는 없었다고 불송치 이유를 설명했다.
문씨는 앞서 경찰 조사에서 "생각보다 액수가 적어 기부하지 않았고, 정신없이 지내다 그대로 잊고 살았다"는 취지로 진술한 것으로 전해졌다.
